I am a cook at a nursing facility for the elderly. For the most part, they eat the same things that anyone else would eat and are just like any other person. We all don't like the same things.
On Fridays, the entire staff participates in a meeting. This week's agenda included discussing what types of things we could serve easily, but make a little different for each resident, so that way everyone could be satisfied. We serve them like a restaurant, so each resident is asked if they would like what is on the main menu or if they would like to order from the alternate menu.
I immediately spoke up. I explained to my director and crew that I'm a BzzAgent, which means that I have the opportunity to try new or popular products for free, with the inclusion of coupons, and then to review and share the products with others. I said that my newest campaign included Land O' Lakes® Sauté Express® Sauté Starter.
My key points were that Land O' Lakes® Sauté Express® Sauté Starters come in five varieties: Savory Butter and Olive Oil, Italian Herb, Lemon Pepper, Garlic and Herb, and the new Teriyaki. They are great to use with chicken and pork and even fruit and vegetables. They allow for quick cooking and could be cost effective, because they could help to eliminate a lot of preparation time. "One step, no prep." Instead of cutting up garlic or measuring out a bunch of herbs, we would just have to unwrap a few cubes and drop it in a pan.
Immediately, seven people raised their hands to speak. Several of them said that they had tried Land O' Lakes® Sauté Express® Sauté Starters in their own home and their family loved them. Another said they were fast and easy to use. One person noted that they loved them, because they were able to make several small dishes for one meal, so everyone could have their favorite.
The kitchen director asked if I could come up with a few recipes and give them to him by the next day. I told him I didn't have to, because not only did BzzAgent allow me to try some for free, but that I had purchased each flavor in order to provide a thorough review of the product.
For the teriyaki, we could do chicken and pineapple over rice. For the garlic and herb and Italian herb, would could do potatoes, green beans, and chicken. For the lemon pepper we could do chicken and slaw mix in tacos, and for the butter and olive oil we could do chicken, zucchini, and squash. We could do one as the main meal and one as the alternate for lunch or dinner. And, we could switch it up as frequently as we wanted.
The next day when I turned on the lights in the kitchen, 20 boxes of Sauté Express® Sauté Starters were lying on the prep table with a note that said the chicken, pineapple, slaw, and tortillas were in the cooler and the green beans and potatoes were in the pantry. “Thanks for the coupon!” (I should note that these are to be refrigerated. There were only the boxes. We do not put cardboard or paper in our cooler, so the packaged cubes had to be divided up and placed in labelled prep pans in the cooler.)
I can't wait until next week when I get to serve the residents with Land O' Lakes® Sauté Express® Sauté Starters. They will love them and they deserve great food. I also can't wait for the entire staff to show up to try it too.
