Ten Minutes to Meal Time - Chicken Fajitas

My mom’s dog turned five today, and we got a few friends and family together for a little party. I had some Christmas shopping to do today, so I didn’t have much time to cook the dinner. Thank goodness for Kroger Skillet Meals and Sides. I made a couple bags of chicken fajitas, chopped some cilantro, and onions and tomatoes for pico.  Of course we couldn’t feed the dogs fajitas, so they got some special gourmet food for dinner.

What do you say when you’re boyfriend tells you, in front of everyone, that it’s the best meal you made all week. And, I’m thinking, this is the only meal I didn’t make from scratch this week. Easier is sometimes better! Luckily, I’m not a bashful person and I had no problem giving him a hit on the arm.

I told him, as well as the rest of the table, that I couldn’t take credit for the meal. I explained that I am a BzzAgent and received coupons to try Kroger Skillet Meals for free and loved them, so I stocked up. Everyone got a laugh out of the experience, but I think most importantly, they got a full tummy.

One of our friends commented that she makes fajitas from scratch all the time, but that she actually liked the Kroger fajitas better than her own.  My mom liked that I made homemade pico and added fresh cilantro. She said that it is fun to take something and add your own twist to it. My cousin added that she really loved the chicken in it. I was happy to share that to buy the fajita ingredients separately probably would have cost more than the Kroger meal itself, and that it only took ten minutes to prepare.

I love sharing deals and ideas with family and friends. When it comes to me, I know I am much more likely to trust a friend or family member’s opinion than a commercial. I think other people are like that too. With the short amount of time these meals take to prepare, sharing such a secret can help others to free up their time to enjoy other things in life too- like spending time with loved ones.

Ten Minutes to Meal Time

Kroger Skillet Meals and Sides

My fridge will continually be stocked with Kroger Skillet Meals and Sides after trying the Tuscan Style Penne. Ten minutes to prepare, when it would have taken me at least two hours to create from scratch. Yet, it tasted just like the penne my friends order to go from a restaurant around the corner from work. Ten minutes, ideal quality, and budget friendly is the perfect way to describe this meal. Yum.

So my family has a wide diversity of people in it- vegetarians, world-traveled, and just plain picky. It's hard to settle on just one meal idea and make them all happy. So, when we have family gatherings, it always seems easier to make several types of things in order to please everyone. Normally I spend hours preparing multiple small dishes, but now that I know about Kroger Skillet Meals and Sides, I don't have to take the time.

For our Sunday weekly gathering, I made Tuscan-Style Penne, Sausage Rigatoni, Shrimp Lo Mein, Chicken Stir Fry, and Chicken Fajitas as the main dishes. I also prepared a few of the House Salad with Bacon kits and Classic Caesar Salad kits and a few loaves of Kroger Garlic Bread.  My family loved it.

My cousin asked how long it took me to get it all together. I said that although I would love to take credit for making it all from scratch, it was all from Kroger. I told her that they were specifically called Kroger Skillet Meals, Fresh Selection Salad Kits, and Kroger Garlic Bread. I explained that I am a BzzAgent and received coupons to try one of each of the items for free and loved them. Now I use them at least once a week. I shared how inexpensive and fast it was to prepare everything. An aunt asked where it was in Kroger, and I explained where each type of item was located. Although they called them tacos, the kids especially liked the chicken fajitas. I especially like the Sausage Rigatoni and the Tuscan-Style Penne was the first skillet to be emptied. A few of the women joked that it sounded so easy, it would be a great thing to stock the guy’s fridge with when we take our all girls family trip in the spring.
