Tasty and Nutritious Meals on the Go

I received another exciting BzzAgent campaign. I was excited to try my free New Fiber One® Meal Bars, especially the ones in Strawberry Greek Yogurt. So in exchange, I am excited to share my opinion on this easy to go, tasty, and nutritious meal option.

The New Fiber One® Meal Bar in Strawberry Greek Yogurt was the perfect addition to my diet and on the go eating habits. I commute to college twice a week and only have fifteen minutes in between each class and I don’t get a real lunch break. I love that I can just throw a meal bar in my bag and can even eat it as I walk from class to class.

I was nervous that it wouldn’t fill me up and I would be hungry again before I got home, but I never even thought about being hungry. The meal bar is a little bigger than other brands I have tried, but it actually has fewer calories than some of those other meal bars. Yet, it’s not too sweet and has a great amount of protein and fiber.

The taste was great too. The bar is filled with whole roasted almonds and tons of fruit pieces, plus the thin coat of yogurt adds just the right amount of sweetness without being too much. I like to have a variety of texture in any food I eat, and I really liked that it was chewy with bits of crunch. The fact that it retails for a little over five dollars a box makes it a bargain compared to most other meal bars.

These meal bars are a great idea for kids too. My brother always complains about how my nephew is running late for the bus and doesn’t have breakfast, so this is a healthy choice he can grab and eat on the bus on the way to school. That way he gets his metabolism going and doesn’t go hungry until lunch. You just can’t beat such nutritious and tasty on the go meal options that are great for the whole family.

Comfy Feet

We had our first real snow just a few days ago. Although we are already getting prepared for Christmas, I will be the first to admit that I miss the warm summer days, but my boots are too cute not to love wearing.  After wearing them for the eight hours I spend at university twice a week (and have to walk over 20 blocks back and forth), however, my feet sure could use some relief.

Thanks to my complimentary Rose VoxBox from +Influenster  and Dr. Scholls® For Her for inserting their Dr. Scholl's® For Her Cozy Cushions, my first thought when I get home isn’t I can’t wait to take my boots off, but it’s out to the yard with the girls to run around and play. Reindeer need their exercise too, ya know.

Uncomfortable feet can make for a really unpleasant day, and it’s nice to know that such a reputable company as Dr. Scholl's® is there to make sure I keep a smile on my face.  And, I get to enjoy time with my loved ones instead of feeling like I need to soak my feet for an hour or two.

It’s funny, but I don’t know that I would have ever thought about Dr. Scholl's® giving me more time, happy time, with my loved ones.  But, it really does!

Dr. Scholl's® is not only comparable in price, if not cheaper, than other insoles, but they don’t slip, and they keep you comfy all day.  What makes it even better?  The Dr. Scholl's® For Her line is exclusively made for women.  Not only do they have Dr. Scholl's® For Her Cozy Cushions, but multiple other female-based insoles.

Check them out today!

Ten Minutes to Meal Time - Chicken Fajitas

My mom’s dog turned five today, and we got a few friends and family together for a little party. I had some Christmas shopping to do today, so I didn’t have much time to cook the dinner. Thank goodness for Kroger Skillet Meals and Sides. I made a couple bags of chicken fajitas, chopped some cilantro, and onions and tomatoes for pico.  Of course we couldn’t feed the dogs fajitas, so they got some special gourmet food for dinner.

What do you say when you’re boyfriend tells you, in front of everyone, that it’s the best meal you made all week. And, I’m thinking, this is the only meal I didn’t make from scratch this week. Easier is sometimes better! Luckily, I’m not a bashful person and I had no problem giving him a hit on the arm.

I told him, as well as the rest of the table, that I couldn’t take credit for the meal. I explained that I am a BzzAgent and received coupons to try Kroger Skillet Meals for free and loved them, so I stocked up. Everyone got a laugh out of the experience, but I think most importantly, they got a full tummy.

One of our friends commented that she makes fajitas from scratch all the time, but that she actually liked the Kroger fajitas better than her own.  My mom liked that I made homemade pico and added fresh cilantro. She said that it is fun to take something and add your own twist to it. My cousin added that she really loved the chicken in it. I was happy to share that to buy the fajita ingredients separately probably would have cost more than the Kroger meal itself, and that it only took ten minutes to prepare.

I love sharing deals and ideas with family and friends. When it comes to me, I know I am much more likely to trust a friend or family member’s opinion than a commercial. I think other people are like that too. With the short amount of time these meals take to prepare, sharing such a secret can help others to free up their time to enjoy other things in life too- like spending time with loved ones.

Ten Minutes to Meal Time

Kroger Skillet Meals and Sides

My fridge will continually be stocked with Kroger Skillet Meals and Sides after trying the Tuscan Style Penne. Ten minutes to prepare, when it would have taken me at least two hours to create from scratch. Yet, it tasted just like the penne my friends order to go from a restaurant around the corner from work. Ten minutes, ideal quality, and budget friendly is the perfect way to describe this meal. Yum.

So my family has a wide diversity of people in it- vegetarians, world-traveled, and just plain picky. It's hard to settle on just one meal idea and make them all happy. So, when we have family gatherings, it always seems easier to make several types of things in order to please everyone. Normally I spend hours preparing multiple small dishes, but now that I know about Kroger Skillet Meals and Sides, I don't have to take the time.

For our Sunday weekly gathering, I made Tuscan-Style Penne, Sausage Rigatoni, Shrimp Lo Mein, Chicken Stir Fry, and Chicken Fajitas as the main dishes. I also prepared a few of the House Salad with Bacon kits and Classic Caesar Salad kits and a few loaves of Kroger Garlic Bread.  My family loved it.

My cousin asked how long it took me to get it all together. I said that although I would love to take credit for making it all from scratch, it was all from Kroger. I told her that they were specifically called Kroger Skillet Meals, Fresh Selection Salad Kits, and Kroger Garlic Bread. I explained that I am a BzzAgent and received coupons to try one of each of the items for free and loved them. Now I use them at least once a week. I shared how inexpensive and fast it was to prepare everything. An aunt asked where it was in Kroger, and I explained where each type of item was located. Although they called them tacos, the kids especially liked the chicken fajitas. I especially like the Sausage Rigatoni and the Tuscan-Style Penne was the first skillet to be emptied. A few of the women joked that it sounded so easy, it would be a great thing to stock the guy’s fridge with when we take our all girls family trip in the spring.
